Is it time to get support?

What will it take for you to get help?

Sometimes I see people after decades of suffering. But I understand that, because I know how dreadfully scary it is to reach out and get help. I know how frightening it is to say the words out loud, I know what the fear feels like to even admit it to yourself. How do I know this? I’ve been there too.

I had exhausted all of the free services, I had no choice but to get private help. It was the best money I had ever spent and I’d spend it again. Because I came to the realisation that I was worth it and I wanted to be here to share my story to help others get better.

So here I am, starting to share my story through blogs, to reach out to you, if you need help. I’m going to be open and honest about my journey and how hard it’s been but how I now know that I was meant to have this journey, I was meant to do everything I’ve done. I was meant to fail at all the things I had ‘failed’ at because really, they were stepping stones to my self-growth. I was meant to feel the pain, I was meant to get to rock bottom, I was meant to consider taking my life because if I hadn’t felt that desperate pain, I wouldn’t have been able to help so many people who suffer with the same pain that I once experienced since.

Mental health can be scary, but we need to talk about it. If you are suffering now then you may be suffering with the wrong kind of thinking and sometimes we need a bit of guidance to show us that. And lets just be clear that’s ok because no matter where your life has taken you, how educated you may be, what you work as etc, we can all be challenged by mental health.

But don’t suffer alone, don’t continue feeling unwell, don’t continue thinking nothing will work. Why, because you’re worth it, you always have been and you always will be.

Sometimes we just need to take the first step and make that call or send that email.
